Exams

When I was in 8th grade, my Language Arts teacher had just transferred over from teaching at a college university and it was one of the hardest classes I've ever taken. At the end of the year, she decided to give us a final exam, like we would expect in both high school and college. All year long she'd encouraged us to read the tests through all the way before beginning them, and on the bottom of the final exam on the last page, in teeny-tiny print was written: "Do not answer any of these questions. Write your name, the date, and pass this in."

I'd gotten through a good part of the exam by then, and went up and passed it in after reading that.

Old habits die hard, I guess; I found myself checking all of my finals this year to see if there was a note like that. :D Alas, no luck. Still, it could happen this spring! XD

G'night, flist!

So. TIred.

It's 6:44 am where I live, and I have yet to fall asleep. Finals suck ass. I've been studying for my Math final and I'm about ready to kick something. Formal logic is awful and should only ever be employed against students as a form of cruel and unusual torture. It's so painful that my head is still throbbing after taking four Tylenol.

Blech.

Did anyone ever notice that the word dying is at the end of studying?

Just making sure it's not just me.

Anyone wanna take my place and take my logic final for me? Please? I'll bake you cookies when I can function normally again.

Urgh. The sun. Way too bright. I am not a morning person, just so y'all know. I work best in the noon to nine pm radius. I am very much a "night owl" and "early birds" should be shot. Unless there are some on my flist, you guys are okay. I just think that being up with the sun is ridiculous. No one should ever have to do that. I'd so much prefer to get up when it's way in the middle of the sky, so that it's def time to get up. People who wake up at 5:00, 6:00 and on till about nine are insane, and I don't care that I'd get more out of my day if I got up then, it's not gonna happen.

I'm probably going to crash in a couple of hours. You most likely won't see me until four or five pm my time (EST USA) so [profile] mr_redrum, if you're reading this, that'll be about one or two am, your time. You'll probably be sleeping, yeah? I wish I was asleep at two.

*sigh* Finals blow. Why can't our professors just give us the grade for our work overall, without needing to pass the final? That would make my life so much easier, it'd be insane.

Okay, I'm probably not making any sense anymore, so I'm gonna get off here before I confuse anyone unduly.

Hey cool, I used a semi-difficult word for being up for so long. Go me. I should get a cookie for that.

Then again, sugar and caffeine would so not be a good idea right now.

K. Leaving. 'Night (or is it 'morning? Oh who cares…)

Yeah, I haven't been on in such a long time. I'm going thorough withdrawal here! >.< RL is taking over my life (totally not aiming for a pun there) and college in particular. I feel like I haven't logged on in ages. When I finally get back into the loop, I hope I'll be able to go back and read all of the great stories and such, catch up on what everyone's been up to. But for now, more studying >> blech.

Finals

Hey guys,

Sorry for not reviewing your stories or leaving any comments on the pics, but finals are staring me down, and I haven't had time to write any good ones. I'm not gonna half-ass a review just because I'm pressed for time, because I don't believe in that. You might see little bits here and there for the next couple of days, but I won't be able to do much until after Christmas. I have a couple more finals this week and then I go home to relatives and gifts and parties and everything just gets really busy for me.

Just wanted to say that the stories that I've had time to read are amazing, and the pics look awesome. I will try to review the ones I read after my life settles down a little.

Oh, and I have a current addiction: One Piece! :D If anyone knows of a place to get good icons for OP, let me know please XD

SNOW

Despite the caps used in the title, I'm NOT HAPPY ABOUT IT.

Snow decided to visit me last night, and I was not happy. I was sitting in my room, minding my own business, and I happened to glance out the window. It was about eight, so it's not like I could see anything, but there is a streetlamp near my window and I thought I saw flurries. Double-checked, and I was right. Sometimes, I hate it when I'm right. I generally bitched and moaned about it, but since there really wasn't anyone to bug, I complained to myself. I seem to do that a lot.

Anyways, I wake up this morning, and it's still. snowing.

Bah.

I called in to the number that you're supposed to call when it's nasty out to see if you still have class. I got this automated message stating that, yes, it's snowing out, and no, I can't stay home. All classes are still on and all school events will be held accordingly. So I get to bundle up in all of my winter gear and trudge through two feet of snow to class. Stupid uni.

I suppose I should be grateful that it hasn't snowed until now. People really do expect snow in December, after all, but I reserve the right to bitch about it. I think snow is the only thing I hate about living in Northeast USA. Everything else is great.

Sorry, needed to rant. I'll be back later if my fingers ever unfreeze.

Heya.

Yeah, vaca's over. Depressing, really. I wish that I got more time off than I do, but there's nothing I can do about it *sigh*. Well, on the bright side, I still have three weeks until finals!…… Actually, that's more like a slightly-less-dark-side, when you think about it……I get to spend the next couple of weeks studying my ass off and trying to pass the semester with a decent grade in discrete math, so not my favorite subject. I don't mind the material, it's just that I sometimes have the hardest time with the logic. Does anyone know what type of class I'm talking about? I'd provide a little example, but I don't know where some of the keys are on my keyboard, like that upside-down V…

Well, besides that this doesn't really seem like such a daunting task. Unless you factor in that I'm the biggest procrastinator ever and I loathe studying with a passion, these next coming weeks aren't truly terrible, yet. I have this bad habit of never planning anything. I really kind of live in the present, and couldn't really tell you what I'm doing tomorrow, because I haven't decided yet. I'll figure out what I'm doing tomorrow tomorrow. I don't plan very far ahead (obviously) and I don't really pay attention to what happened in the past. That's probably not the best mindset for college, but it's pretty hard to fix old habits.

Anyways, I can't wait for Christmas vacation in a month. I get to do zero studying for an entire month, and I'm totally looking forward to it. XD

Stuff

Hi Everyone.

I was getting rather mad at my internet connection today, because it was acting up even when there was nothing wrong with it. The cable was plugged in and everything was where it was supposed to be, but it kept stalling and taking five minutes to load each page, and it was just pissing me off! *huff!* Well, I have a MacBook, and whenever that happens on them you can go to the system preferences application and check out the diagnostics of the internet there. A quick run-through and you're all set, everything goes back to normal. I had to do that about thirty times the past few hours, and I'm about ready to throw something. Geez.

Anyway, I was thinking about asking for some advice from you good people. I'm still in college, and have a few more years before I need to think about work and the quirks and troubles that come with a full-time job. Does anyone have any advice on what I should do until then? Obviously keeping grades up is a must, and learning the material and all that, but I mean the stuff on the side, you know? Things that college kids don't think about usually. I know that I can use all the help I can get, and even though it's a long way off still, I wanna be at least a little prepared. My older brother ISN'T helping, because all he talks about is how much better the party life gets when you know all of the best places to go by the time you're in your last year. *rolls eyes* Can't fathom how he's still doing so well in his classes. Anyhoo, anything you can offer is great ^_^

I might be posting something soon, and all I really seem to be able to do is produce drabbles. Well, they aren't really drabbles, since I can't seem to go below six-hundred words on any of them, but they aren't multi-chaps by any stretch of the imagination. I'm trying to make them shorter, but my treacherous fingers just keep typing and before I know it, they're about seven pages in Word. *sigh* Just thought I'd give you guys the heads up.

Also, just a little, pointless side note: you know the little guy that you pick to decide your mood sometimes? Well, mine's a little fox, and I just thought I'd point out that the expression on his cute little face is the same both when he's crazy and when he's horny. ^^ Thought I'd share.
