Despite the caps used in the title, I'm NOT HAPPY ABOUT IT.

Snow decided to visit me last night, and I was not happy. I was sitting in my room, minding my own business, and I happened to glance out the window. It was about eight, so it's not like I could see anything, but there is a streetlamp near my window and I thought I saw flurries. Double-checked, and I was right. Sometimes, I hate it when I'm right. I generally bitched and moaned about it, but since there really wasn't anyone to bug, I complained to myself. I seem to do that a lot.

Anyways, I wake up this morning, and it's still. snowing.

Bah.

I called in to the number that you're supposed to call when it's nasty out to see if you still have class. I got this automated message stating that, yes, it's snowing out, and no, I can't stay home. All classes are still on and all school events will be held accordingly. So I get to bundle up in all of my winter gear and trudge through two feet of snow to class. Stupid uni.

I suppose I should be grateful that it hasn't snowed until now. People really do expect snow in December, after all, but I reserve the right to bitch about it. I think snow is the only thing I hate about living in Northeast USA. Everything else is great.

Sorry, needed to rant. I'll be back later if my fingers ever unfreeze.

Yuck. I'm glad it's starting to melt here. It's really slushy on the sidewalks, and there's still a good foot, but it's all soft and less irritating now. I just hope we don't get dumped on again anytime soon.

I'll take all your snow for ya - provided I get to camp out on the couch with a fuzzy blanket, some tea and a book. ;)

Seriously though, snow days that should be snow days and aren't snow days? Those suck. I feel for ya.

I love curling up near the fire with cocoa and one of my books when it's snowing out and reallyreallyreally cold. XD With my luck though, I end up having to go out and shovel :(

Gah, shoveling is the worst. Between my two brothers and me, I'm the one who usually ends up doing the whole thing :( We have a huge driveway that fits four cars comfortably and then a porch that goes around half of the house, and is about fifteen feet wide. Argh, it's awful. I think the worst part about it, though, is that on a day when it's snowing hard, you gotta go back out every couple hours and do it all again.

This totally reminds of my Undergrad days in Northampton, Massachusetts. My school was apparently really anal about having snow days, so even when this big-assed ginormous (gigantic + enormous) ice storm hit, we still had class. I don't even know why they even teased us with the bad weather hotline- I think hell would literally have to freeze over before they'd let us off.

Yeah. My uni is USM, or University of Southern Maine, and we get craploads of snow here too. I know the lingo too XP Use it all the time up here. I sometimes confuse my cousins across the country when we talk, and he confuses me. When you live in one area for a long time, you adapt to their slang, and so when you hear other slang, you're like, what? X3

I think, if we had a big-ass snowstorm, I'd stay inside regardless. I have to walk around my entire campus to get to class, and then I need to take a bus to get to my other classes. If I'm gonna risk my life just to make it to Western Civ, then tough luck, I'm not going.
